Boilerplate stuff:
Election of Committees & Officers Monday, March 27
The next election will be the Election of Committees and Officers at the Town Meeting on March 27, 2017. The Town Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Ballots are distributed at the beginning of the meeting, and you can vote at any time during the meeting. If you cannot attend the entire meeting, you are welcome to come and vote, then leave when you need to, or arrive late to vote. All residents who live in the village as their primary residence and are over 18 may vote. Renters may vote. Absentee voting is allowed under some circumstances, but you must submit an Affidavit request by March 20 and the ballot must be received by 6 p.m. on March 27. Click here for information about Absentee Voting.
Vote is by secret ballot. Click here to see a SAMPLE BALLOT. This is a sample ballot only; you cannot vote with it. Actual ballots are distributed at the Town Meeting or with Absentee voting materials. Nominees for Arden Committees and Officers have been invited to post brief statements about who they are, why they are running for a particular committee, and what skills they might bring to these essential (but unpaid) jobs. There are a few posts already, and we hope more candidates will participate in our effort to inform voters. Click here to see the candidate statements.
If you are a candidate, and would like to tell voters about yourself, click this link and fill out the form. Your statement will be posted soon after we receive it.
