I would like to introduce myself: I am Rachel Brown. My family and I just moved into Charlotte Shedds house on The Sweep, but I have been a fixture in Arden for years working at the Arden Swim Club, volunteering at the fair, and currently as building manager at the Buzz Ware Village Center. As an assessor, one thing I would like to focus on is streamlining the budget so that the Land Rent doesn’t continue to overburden our leaseholders. School and County taxes are only a small portion. Hope to find way to help eliminate unnecessary and wasteful spending, just like we do at home. I believe that lowering our Land Rent would be a good thing for everyone in today’s economy, especially as our population ages. If we could help ease leaseholders financial burdens, we would be doing a great service to the stability and well-being of the entire community.
