WHO I AM:
I have lived in Arden for more than 30 years and during that time have served on many different committees, including as chair of the Avery Task Force, Community Planning, BWVC, Registration, Assessors and the Arden Club board. The Avery Task Force was the committee instrumental in helping the village purchase and protect the five acres of land adjacent to Sherwood Forest. I am currently a board member of the Arden Building & Loan Association.
INTEREST AND/OR SKILLS:
I was fortunate to know Johanna Schroeder well when she lived in Arden. When the Avery Task Force was working to save the woodlands adjoining Sherwood Forest, we had long conversations about the importance of preserving the natural woodlands surrounding our village and the joy, inspiration and serenity that the natural spaces brought to her as well as to many village residents. If handled with fiscal responsibility, her generous gift to the village can go a long way in furthering the wishes outlined in her Will to preserve and protect Arden’s natural spaces. The stewards have a responsibility to ensure that her gift is handled in the manner intended and in a way that honors her memory.
