WHO I AM:
My name is Jennifer Zarcone. I’ve lived in Arden for eight months with my husband, Dave Bales, and our dog, River, but I’ve been an Arden “wannabe” for years. When we decided to leave New Jersey, we searched everywhere for the right place. Once we found Arden, the search ended. We’ve volunteered at the Fair for several years and enjoyed many community events long before moving to Walnut Lane last year. Professionally, I’ve spent much of my career in corporate communications at the global software company SAP, and I’ve also held development roles in several nonprofits. When I’m not working, I love to be in nature. I’m an avid birder, and I love live music, art, film, and spending time with my husband, friends, and of course, my dog.
INTEREST AND/OR SKILLS:
My background is rooted in communication, relationship-building, and getting things done. I hold a master’s degree in public policy and have a long history of volunteer work through organizations such as the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, the Taproot Foundation, NY Cares, the Urban Coast Institute, and Re-Clam the Bay. I was also a founding board member of Save Coastal Wildlife, a volunteer-run nonprofit focused on restoration, research, and public education to protect coastal wildlife along the Jersey Shore. I served for ten years and was involved in all aspects of running the organization.
I care deeply about preserving the culture, beauty, and spirit of Arden. We chose this community because of its strong sense of connection, its appreciation for nature and the arts, and its commitment to peace and culture. I believe that being part of such a special place means contributing to what makes it unique, and helping to keep it that way.
