Eric Reed, candidate for Steward of the Schroeder Trust

Johanna Schroeder left the village a generous gift.  As a Steward of the Trust I pledge to administer it in a fiduciary manner for the purpose it was intended to serve.  I did not know Johanna but I’ve spoken with people in the town who knew her.   I’ve read her Last Will and Testament and will work to fulfill her wishes as indicated in the will:  for the preservation and care of the natural spaces in Arden in the woods and greens. Johanna said that the woods and greens were a source of joy and inspiration for her.   Daily walks in the woods and greens with my dog Rory is also a source of joy for me. It has facilitated meeting many new people here in town.  I feel a sense of responsibility to preserve our natural settings for the benefit of our residents.  This is a group effort and I have a track record of working productively with other members of the community in ACRA, Arden Club and the Forest Committee. In my career I was responsible for complex projects in government that involved contracting and finance and I bring an analytic background to ensure funds are preserved and spent in an effective manner and reported to the town on a scheduled basis.  When disbursement of funds are proposed I will look at them in the context of what the intentions of the Trust indicated.
