WHO I AM:
I was raised as a city girl in Newark (not New Ark) New Jersey. I’ve always gravitated to the woods and natural surroundings. Moving first to a rental in Ardentown 4 years ago and then buying a house 7 months later in Arden right on the Green was perfect for me.
INTEREST AND/OR SKILLS:
I am an educator, working as a teacher for many wonderful years in Summit NJ. After retirement, I continued teaching, supervising new teachers in 3 of the largest inner cities in NJ, and teaching ESL and basic reading skills on site in hotels and factories to assist the workers in their communication under a grant funded program. My final years in NJ were with the Early Childhood Dept. at NJCU teaching and guiding student teachers onsite.
I am on the ballot for the Audit Committee. Although I attend town meetings and participate in various events and activities, I thought it was time for me to become more active. I chose Audit as I know how important it is to make sure financial policies and procedures are followed to maintain accuracy and avoid waste. I have the skills of editing, and am detail oriented.
Being part of the Auditing Committee is perfect for me as they meet only a few times each year. I love my beautiful garden, designed by Helga Melton, but it requires a huge amount of my time and energy. I have many other interests. At the top of the list is English Country Dancing, which I have been doing for over 30 years.
I am happy to wait until another opening on Audit presents itself in the future. Cookie Ohlson, the incumbent, is running for another term and I fully support her re-election.
