Fortunately, I was raised in Arden, and my husband and I raised our daughter here, as well.
There are too many gifts associated with such a life to mention, but to me it boils down to a few stand-outs: great inter-generational relationships, lifelong friendships, developing respect for others, being immersed in the arts by osmosis, appreciating the beauty and protection of nature, etc.. And learning how to work together…making our community interactive and better for it.
Having parents and others who encouraged reading by example, I loved reading and became a school librarian, working at Tower Hill School for 25 years.
I am also a fiber artist, currently creating original traditional rug hooking pieces.
I was a member of the ACRA board for many years, long ago. I served on the Archives Committee for 3 years (not long ago!) and would very much like to join it again. Our family members have all been proponents of the Archives and Museum since the archives were located in boxes on the Buzz stage.
My skills that come into play in most of what I do include attention to detail, seasoned writing skills, a strong desire to create a great finished product and working with others successfully.
