Civic Committee is responsible for the maintenance and repair of roads, paths, greens, storm sewers, and trees on greens and rights-of-way. This includes determining when repairs and maintenance are needed, soliciting bids, and hiring contractors. It oversees most permits. It is also responsible for maintenance of the Field Theater adjacent to the Village Green.

Trash & Recycling Updates
Trash & Recycling collection in all three Ardens is provided by Trash Tech. Community-wide pickup means less wear-and-tear on our roads, and is more economical too. The cost of the service is included in your land rent.
Service Issues: The Civic Committee will take action on issues involving multiple leaseholds or repeated incidents. Individual leaseholders are responsible for contacting the contractor regarding single occurrences of issues involving their leaseholds.
Weekly household trash is Tuesday morning for Arden, Ardentown and Ardencroft. Yard waste and single-stream recyclables are collected on alternating weeks.
Is it Yard Waste Week, or a Recycling Week this week? For the latest Trash & Recycling Schedule for all 3 Ardens, click here.
If you need a receptacle or have problems with pickup, contact Trash Tech directly by calling 302-832-8000.
More questions? Our Ardens Trash & Recycling flyer contains all the basic information you need. You can download it by clicking the link. Recyclables are processed by the Delaware Solid Waste Authority, so follow DSWA guidelines for what to include in your single-stream recycling. See the DSWA poster here: delaware-recycles-poster. See de.gov/recycling for more about recycling in Delaware.
BACKGROUND: Change of Trash/Recycling collection service
The decision to change from Waste Management to Trash Tech was made at Arden Town Assembly on Sept. 27, 2021. Read about the comparison of the service providers below. Links are in aqua blue.

Report on the condition of the White Pine
The condition of the white pine on the Arden Green was assessed by Tree Tech consulting December 2, 2020. Read their report here.
Permission Required for Tree Removal
It is the responsibility of the Civic Committee, and not the leaseholder, to remove trees on Village land (the right-of-way next to the street, for example). Contact the Civic Committee concerning problems with non-leasehold trees. For trees on Arden leaseholds, authorization for removal must be obtained from the Trustees. Please see the Trustees page to download the required form.
