WHO I AM:
I’ve lived in Arden since 2007 and been chair of the Forest Committee since 2009. I’ve also served on the Civic Committee since 2018. I’m the one carrying a chain saw.
INTEREST AND/OR SKILLS:
My primary concern is for the health of the trees and greens in Arden with a particular interest in maintaining diversity of native plants. I’ve procured grants for resurfacing our historic walking paths and for tree plantings as well as the restoration of damage from excess stormwater flow in Sherwood Forest. I’m interested in managing storm water responsibly, so I keep up to date with best management practices. I also stay informed on the spread of tree diseases that threaten our ashes, oaks and beeches. I recommend the online courses from Penn State Extension — they know trees!
This year I will become a Delaware Master Naturalist and will be promoting Arden as a Local Organizing Partner for this program.
