Carol Larson, candidate for Forest Committee

INTEREST AND/OR SKILLS: I’ve served on the Forest Committee for 8 years and would love to continue, having found a calling in the work. I serve on the Urban & Community Forestry Council, Delaware Forest Service and the Naaman’s Creek Watershed Association; I’m certified as an Organic Land Care Professional by the Northeast Organic Farm Assn.; and I’m a member of the Society for Ecological Restoration, Morris Arboretum, Delaware Nature Society and Bartram’s Gardens. I have a particular interest in the effects of stormwater and its management, the intricacies of soil, and of course, trees. My hobby is self-education: I go to Arborist seminars, classes at Morris Arboretum School of Arboriculture, and attend the Delaware Riverkeeper Watershed Congress annually. I think it is important to extend our budget through grant writing, and to have respect for the judicious use of land rent.
